BS 10125 Certified Vehicle Body Repair in Paisley
BS 10125 is the British Standard for vehicle body repair — the recognised benchmark for quality, safety and workmanship in the UK automotive repair industry. At Linwood Coachworks, we are fully certified to BS 10125:2022 across all 16 repair categories, independently audited by RMI Standards and Certification (RMISC) under UKAS accreditation.
What does this mean for you? It means every repair carried out at our Paisley workshop meets the highest independently verified standard in the industry — the same standard required by major insurers and main dealerships.
What is BS 10125?
BS 10125 is published by the British Standards Institution and sets out the requirements for the repair of light vehicles. It covers the processes, materials, equipment and technician competency required across every category of vehicle body repair — from minor cosmetic damage through to major structural accident repairs.
Certification is not self-declared. It requires an independent audit by an accredited certification body. Our BS 10125:2022 certification is issued by RMISC and backed by UKAS — giving you complete confidence in every repair we carry out.

Why Does BS 10125 Matter?
Modern vehicles are significantly more complex than they were even ten years ago. ADAS systems, airbags, crumple zones, high-strength steel panels and hybrid powertrains all need to be correctly repaired after an accident. A cosmetically perfect repair that hasn't been carried out to the correct standard can leave safety-critical systems compromised.
BS 10125 certification gives you assurance that:
- Repairs are carried out using correct materials and approved methods
- Technicians are trained and competent across every repair category
- Equipment meets the required standard for the repair type
- Safety-critical systems including ADAS, SRS and electrical systems are correctly repaired and recalibrated
- Your vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition — structurally, mechanically and cosmetically
BS 10125 and Your Insurance Claim
Many insurers require repairs to be carried out to BS 10125 standards as a condition of their policy. Choosing a non-certified bodyshop could result in your insurer refusing to cover the cost of the repair, or any future claims relating to that repair.
By choosing Linwood Coachworks, you can be confident your repair will be accepted by your insurer and your vehicle's warranty and resale value are fully protected.
