❓ I've been in an accident — what should I do first?
- Make sure everyone is safe and the vehicles are in a secure place.
- Exchange details with the other driver (name, registration, contact, and insurer).
- Take photos of the scene, vehicle damage, and any road signs or hazards.

Important: Even if your car still drives, it's best to have it checked. Some damage can be hidden beneath the surface.
⚖️ What's the difference between a fault and non-fault claim?
Non-Fault Claim
If the accident wasn't your fault, we can:
- Handle your claim from start to finish
- Provide a like-for-like hire vehicle while yours is being repaired
- Recover the repair costs directly from the other driver's insurer
- Often waive your excess, meaning you won't be out of pocket
Fault Claim
If the accident was your fault (or you're unsure):
- We'll still carry out all repairs to BS10125 standards
- Liaise directly with your insurer for authorisation
- Keep you updated throughout the process
- Provide a courtesy car wherever possible

🧰 What happens after I bring my vehicle to you?
- We inspect the damage and provide a detailed estimate using our industry-approved Audatex system.
- We send the estimate to your insurer (or claim handler) for authorisation.
- Once approved, we book your vehicle in for repair and arrange a courtesy or hire car if needed.

- We keep you updated every step of the way until your car is ready to collect.
💰 Will I need to pay anything?
That depends on your claim:
- Non-fault claim: Usually no — we recover all costs from the other party's insurer.
- Fault claim: You may need to pay your policy excess, as agreed with your insurer.
- If you're paying privately, we'll always give you a free, no-obligation estimate first.
🧾 Do I need to get three quotes?
No — that's a myth.
Your insurer may suggest it, but legally, you only need one quote from a repairer of your choice. Linwood Coachworks handles everything directly with your insurer so you don't have to.
